Workers in this country need a fierce advocate at the helm of the Department of Labor, and Julie Su is exactly that. She has devoted her life to fighting for workers’ rights and power, holding exploitative employers accountable, leveling the playing field for high-road employers, and doing pioneering work to protect immigrant workers. I encourage the U.S. Senate to act quickly on her nomination to ensure that the Department of Labor can continue to address issues important to working people, including expanding the right to overtime pay, protecting workers’ rights to safe workplaces, and combating wage theft and misclassification.
