Over 4,800 workers are killed on the job every year. That means 13 workers lose their lives on the job every day. Tens of thousands more die of occupational disease each year and almost 3 million more suffer a serious job related injury. Yet, within the first 100 days of the Trump administration, Congress and the President have already launched attacks on worker safety and rolled back worker protections that would have saved lives and prevent injuries.
The EPI and NELP invite you to join us on Worker Memorial Day, April 28th for a symposium with experts and workers to remember those that have lost their lives on the job, and to discuss the importance of strong government enforcement and safety standards to prevent work related injuries and fatalities. Our panel will highlight the impact of the new rollbacks on workers lives and health implemented in the first 100 days of the Trump administration, and review future threats to safety protections that will endanger workers.
